CALEA¶

1(1,2,3)

Neither the AC adapter, Librem 5, nor the Liberty phone are required to comply with CALEA requirements.

CALEA applies to US-based telecommunications providers, not to Purism. If the user of a Librem phone uses a carrier in the US with a traditional “phone number”, that carrier must comply with CALEA for phone calls, as the phone call is sent over the carrier’s connection. Pure Matrix-to-Matrix calls are outside of CALEA requirements (Matrix nor Purism are telecommunications service providers). If the call touches the PSTN, it becomes the carrier’s responsibility to adhere to CALEA. Matrix is an encrypted VoIP/messaging protocol and not a telecommunications provider.

CE¶

2(1,2,3)

The AC adapter, Librem 5, and Liberty phone comply with CE in the following documents:

  1. Declaration of conformity

    • Liberty Phone

    • Librem 5 (pg. 18): (PDF; source)

  2. Notified body EU-type examination certificate

  3. SAR test report

CEC, DOE¶

3(1,2)

The Librem 5 and Liberty phone comply with CEC/DOE in the following documents:

  1. LCS210421024AS-TRF.pdf

  2. LCS210421025AS-TRF.pdf

ETL¶

4(1,2,3)

The included AC adapter has ETL certification. The Librem 5 and Liberty Phone do not have ETL certifications.

FCC¶

5(1,2)

The Librem 5 and Liberty phone comply with the FCC in the following documents:

  1. FCC compliance statement (pg. 19): (PDF; source)

  2. SDoC Test Report 6

  3. SAR Test Report 6

6(1,2)

The Liberty Phone has the same mechanical and electrical design as the Librem 5. These tests apply to both.

ISO 9001¶

7(1,2,3)

ISO 9001 is a certification for an organization’s quality management system. Purism does not have ISO 9001 certification.

ISO 27001¶

8(1,2,3)

ISO 27001 is a certification for an organization’s information security management system. Purism does not have ISO 27001 certification.

PSE¶

9

The included AC adapter is not PSE certified.

RoHS¶

10(1,2)

The Librem 5 and Liberty Phone conform to RoHS.

TAA¶

FTC¶

  1. Based on the FTC’s definition of TAA compliance, the Librem 5 is not compliant as it is manufactured in PRC.

  2. Based on the FTC’s definition of TAA compliance, the Liberty Phone is not compliant, as the device features “Made in USA Electronics” using global materials and is not entirely “Made in USA.”

UKCA¶

11(1,2)

The government of Great Britain accepts CE markings as a declaration of UKCA compliance and has extended this indefinitely. The Librem 5 and Liberty Phone bear the appropriate markings to be sold in this market, although they do not explicitely display a UKCA marking.

UL¶

12

The included AC adapter conforms to UL STD. 62368-1.

13(1,2)

The Librem 5 and Liberty Phone do not have UL certifications.

VCCI¶

14(1,2)

The Librem 5 and Liberty Phone have not been tested for VCCI compliance.
