Getting Started

The Librem AweSIM SIM card will work in almost any device.

Librem 5: Ensure the phone is completely powered down before removing or inserting the SIM. SIM hotswaps likely will irreparably damage the SIM card!

Carrier settings

The following settings are set automatically on most Android/iOS devices but must be manually configured on the Librem 5.

Phones

  • APN: NXTGENPHONE

  • User: <leave blank>

  • Pass: <leave blank>

  • MMSC: http://mmsc.mobile.att.net

  • MMS Proxy: proxy.mobile.att.net

Data Device

  • APN: Broadband

  • User: <leave blank>

  • Pass: <leave blank>

Librem 5 Setup

  1. Add or select the APN with the parameters above:

    • Settings → Mobile → Access Point Names

  2. Set the “Network Mode” to “4G Only”:

    • Settings → Mobile → Network Mode

  3. Configure Chats application with APN/MMSC/Proxy parameters above:

    • Chats → ☰ → Preferences → Protocol Settings → SMS and MMS Settings

Voicemail

To configure voicemail, dial your own number (or hold ‘1’ on Apple or Android devices) and follow the prompts.

WARNING: Be very careful with the SIM Lock option. Only continue if you are confident with the feature, as it takes a couple days to request an unlock code (PUK). The default PIN is 1111.
