Replacing the BatteryΒΆ

Warning

Switch the phone off and disconnect it from any connected USB power source before replacing the battery.

You need to remove the rear cover of the phone to access the battery compartment.

Note

Proper electrostatic discharge (ESD) precautions should be taken, such as ensuring that you are grounded, before removing the rear cover of the phone and handling components within.

To remove the cover:

  1. Place the phone on a flat surface with the screen facing down.

  2. Gently detach the cover from the back of the phone, starting at the corner with the gap between the cover and the chassis.

  3. Slide a fingernail or a thin piece of plastic around the edge to unclip the cover.

Remove the existing battery from the compartment.

Remove the new battery from its packaging and insert it into the compartment, as shown in the diagram below.

Position the cover over the case as before and gently press until it snaps into place.
